The TORNADO PROJECT |
||||||||||
![]() |
The Tornado Project was tailored for american virtuosi performers Esther Lamneck (clarinet) and Elizabeth McNutt (flute). It aimed to create the first interactive repertorire of works for flute, clarinet & live computer, using alternative approaches to technologies and aesthetics by a number of composers. It was conceived as a cross-atlantic project involving composers based in the UK/Ireland and the USA. The Tornado Project, performed by two of America's most distinguished performers, include works by composers like Ricardo Climent and Paul Wilson (both conceived the project one morning in Ravenhill Gardens), Robert Rowe, Andrew May, Eric Lyon, Mara Helmuth and Russell Pinkston. I composed "Russian Disco' for this project, based on Wladimir Kaminer's hilarious book. |
