Required to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, to produce composition work of the highest quality, and to undertake administrative work for the department. The successful candidate will also participate in and help direct performance and act as a personal tutor to undergraduate and postgraduate students. You will have proven ability as a composer, experience of teaching in higher education, have a first degree in an appropriate subject and a PhD (or be near to completion). It is highly desirable that you have a specialism in live electronic composition (and, therefore, ability in both studio-based electroacoustic music and instrumental/vocal work), and knowledge of the Max/MSP program. An active interest in one or more of the following areas would be advantageous: acoustics; aesthetics; analysis; conducting; critical theory; psychoacoustics and perception.
