pure
data (PD) Beta MacOS X Installer released
A new MacOS X installer, which includes 0.37 and many externals from CVS, has
been released.
I just put up a new version of the MacOS X installer, with a number of key changes
and new features. The package is still of early beta quality, but the core functionality
is quite solid. Plus it now has an extra-dorky Pd patch background for the Installer.

Pd
Repertory Project
The Pd Repertory Project is an attempt to make stable, open-source implementations
of pieces in the electronic music repertory. First announced by MSP at ICMC
2001 the first docs and patches are now online.
This is what Miller S. Puckette has to write about the Pd Repertory Project:
"The
last 35 years have seen the development of a significant repertory of music
involving concert instruments whose sound is enhanced or transformed using live
electronics. The realizations of many of these pieces have depended on specific
items of hardware or software which, while chosen for their expediency at the
times of the premieres of the pieces, will eventually become impossible to find,
and in some cases are already becoming scarce."
"The
Pd repertory project provides realizations of four important pieces from this
repertory. It is hoped that this collection will expand to include at least
a dozen pieces for solo instrument or small ensemble and electronics."
