Electronic Music Foundation 10: Call for sounds 2004

Untitled Document From EMF ...

EMF 10: Call for sounds

We're planning a party on or around September 10 in New York City. The party will mark the end of the first ten years of EMF and the beginning of the next ten years. You will certainly be invited as soon as confirmation of some details is in place. For the moment, here is another invitation ...

The party will also launch an installation of sounds that, as a whole, represents what is happening at this time in electronic music around the world. We hope to have many opportunities to present the installation in different places. We invite your musical participation.

Please send us a beautiful, striking, interesting sound on a CDR. The sound can be based on any source, including electronics, electronic processing, soundscape ... The duration should be a minute or two, more or less. Be sure to state the name of the sound and your name on the CDR cover.

Separately, in an email message, send us documentation about when and how your sound was made. Also include any other information that you imagine will be of interest to a current and future public, such as your ideas, general concept of sound, and/or artistic philosophy or direction. Be sure that your email documentation has a header with your name and your sound's name so that we can match it to your sound. Please mention also the country in which you're living or with which you identify yourself. The email should be sent to:

emf10@emf.org

The sooner the better, but since we need time to design an installation, the sounds should reach us by April 15. If you plan to send a sound, please let us know as soon as you can in a short email message.

EMF 10: Call for proposals

We also invite you to propose events or projects now or at any time. An initial proposal should be brief but include a CD (if the recording relates directly to your proposal), description of what you would like to do, description of technical issues, general idea of costs, etc. Your proposals will be a major resource for us in planning programs, not only for the fall 2004 - spring 2005 season but also for the future. Your proposals provide an important way for us to know what you're doing and an important resource for us in planning programs. Send proposals to:

emf10@emf.org
