The computer music team at the University of Plymouth's Faculty of Technology
is looking for a highly qualified graduate to pursue a PhD in the field interactive
music systems, focusing on Brain-Computer Interfacing (BCI) for musical systems.
A brain-controlled musical device is of great interest to both entertainment
and therapeutic industries. A scholarship is available on a competitive basis,
conditioned to the potential of the candidate to conduct world-class research.
The scholarship will cover the University fees (UK/EU rates) plus a monthly
stipend for three years. Candidates will have a music technology background,
with good grasp of algorithmic composition techniques and digital interfaces.
Good programming skills are essential (e.g., Matlab, C/C++, Max/MSP/Jitter).
Experience with biosignal processing and/or EEG is highly desirable. For more
