AND CULTURES MUSIC TECHNICIAN (Ref: 1073/04)
The new School of Arts, Histories and Cultures comprises a wide range of disciplines:
Archaeology; Art History & Visual Studies; Classics & Ancient History;
Drama; English & American Studies; History; Music; Religions & Theology.
The School is home to some 3,000 students, about 2,600 of who are undergraduates,
and some 130 academic staff plus research and support staff. This post is part
of the School?s Resources Team and the post holder will be part of a team of
technical staff who support the public performance spaces, studios and specialist
teaching within the building.
The key responsibility of the post holder will be the technical support of the
electroacoustics studios and performance spaces. Applicants should have a background
in Music Technology consisting of a HE diploma, degree or minimum of two years
You should also have an in-depth knowledge of Mac-based digital audio software,
other music applications, Macintosh computers, software and operating systems
together with a good working knowledge and experience of current audio recording
techniques and systems. You should have good organisational and communication
skills and be able to work effectively as part of a team and autonomously.
The post is for one year in the first instance. Salary will be in the range
£17,970 - £19,460 per annum, according to relevant experience and
