The Ninth World Harp Congress Dublin 2005, in association with Sonic Arts Research Centre, is pleased to announce an opportunity to write a new piece for solo harp and electronics, which will be presented in a workshop setting at the Ninth World Harp Congress Dublin 2005.
Four composers will be selected to develop a six-minute work, which will be researched and developed at the Sonic Arts Research Centre, Queen’s University of Belfast during a two-week residency. The work will be performed in a workshop setting in the presence of a panel of established composers and harpists on Thursday 21st July 2005 at the Ninth World Harp Congress in Dublin. The Arts Council of Northern Ireland National Lottery New Work Scheme has provided funding for this project.
The Ninth World Harp Congress will be held in Dublin from 17th-24th July 2005 at University College Dublin and the National Concert Hall. The Congress is an eight-day international festival, featuring 40 concerts, masterclasses, workshops, lectures and a major exhibition.
