Prize opportunity: Prix Ton Bruynel

Untitled Document

Prix Bruynel 2005

deadline: 5 April 2005

Every two years the Foundation intends to distribute a prize 5000 in order to stimulate the creation of new works. This prize may be used to create a new composition of which the scoring will need the consent of the Foundation's board.
Composers, regardless their age and nationality, are invited to submit a work which emphasizes the use of electronics in combination with one or more
instruments and which was composed within five years before submission. A panel consisting of the members of the board and its advisory council will judge the submissions; its decision will be irrevocable.
Submissions for the Prix Ton Bruynèl will contain a score, a recording and a biography of the composer.

Rules and regulations:

Composers of any age or nationality may submit one electroacoustic work.
Works may be submitted for the following categories:

A: works for tape only, maximal duration 10 minutes
B: works for tape and one to eight instruments, maximal duration 15 minutes

Works may already have been performed but they must have been composed not more than five years ago.

The composer of the winning work must provide the performance material. The performance may not result in charges such as travelling costs for the composer, fees for rental or for performance material, fees for performers other than the ones mentioned above, broadcasting companies or a CD production.

The entered works will be kept in the library of the Gaudeamus Foundation.
They will only be returned if this is expressly requested and a postal return fee is included.

The composer should send:

- a biography preferably in English
- title, duration and scoring of the work
- programme notes
- a score and the tape part ( preferably on CD)
- a recording of the complete work, a MIDI version is permitted

The winner will be notified by mail and email,
results will also be published on
