Salary range: Lecturer Level B A$61,201 - A$72,678 p.a.

The School of Music has a purpose-built facility with a staffing profile that includes performance, research, composition and music education and a student body of 250 students. The School is also the home of the Callaway Centre, established in recognition of the legacy of the University's Foundation Professor of Music, the late Sir Frank Callaway (1919-2003), who was a doyen of twentieth-century music education. The Callaway Centre is a hub for international research, resources and publications and enjoys a growing collaboration with many national and international organisations. The Centre fosters research partnerships with other Australian and international institutions, visiting scholars and practitioners.
This position offers an exciting opportunity for a research-active Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in music education. The School's undergraduate and postgraduate students in music education go on to become leading practitioners and researchers in Australia and overseas, employed in a broad range of positions, from pre-primary, primary and secondary school education through to higher education. The position is suitable for an individual prepared to take a leading role in music education teaching and research within the School. Applicants must have a PhD preferably in Music Education or a closely related research area. Applicants with teaching experience are requested to submit a teaching portfolio as part of their application. The ability to contribute to the School's aural musicianship and/or instrumental pedagogy programmes would be an advantage.
